  • Teresa Janevic, PhD, MPH

    CO-PI

    Teresa Janevic (she/hers) is a perinatal epidemiologist with a focus on social and structural determinants of maternal health equity. A focus of her research is to discover how policies toward immigrants influence maternal health outcomes.

  • Ellerie Weber, PhD, MBA

    CO-PI

    Ellerie Weber (she/hers), PhD, MBA, is a health economist and Assistant Professor at Icahn School of Medicaine at Mount Sinai. Her research focuses on understanding how policies impact health outcomes, including health utilization and spending.

  • Ashley Fox, PhD, MA

    CO-INVESTIGATOR

    Ashley Fox, PhD, MA (she/hers) is an Associate Professor at Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy, at the University at Albany, SUNY. Her research focuses on health policy and politics in the U.S. and globally.

  • Frances M. Howell, MA, PhD Candidate

    RESEARCH PROJECT COORDINATOR

    Frances M. Howell (she/hers) is currently a research coordinator and PhD candidate in Critical Social Psychology with a focus on gendered racism, reproductive health equity, and mental health outcomes among birthing people. Frances’ primary interest is using research to advocate for equitable access to quality reproductive healthcare in service of social justice.

  • Heeun Kim, MA, PhD Candidate

    DATA ANALYST

    Heeun Kim (she/hers) is a PhD candidate in the Department of Public Administration & Policy at the University at Albany. Her research focuses on health policies and their impact on access to health care in the US and abroad using quantitative causal analysis and mixed-method.

  • Cecilia Katzenstein

    STUDENT RESEARCHER

    Cecilia Katzenstein is a second-year MD/MPH candidate at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She graduated from the University of Chicago in 2021 with honors, Phi Beta Kappa, and Summa Cum Laude with a degree in the History, Philosophy, and Social Studies of Science and Medicine and a minor in Human Rights.

  • Morgan Steelman, MPhil

    STUDENT RESEARCHER

    Morgan Steelman is a second-year MD candidate at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University with a degree from the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs and a certificate from the Global Health Program. She also received her Master of Philosophy in Public Health from the University of Cambridge.

  • Alva Rodriguez

    RESEARCH COORDINATOR

    Alva Rodriguez is a Clinical Research Coordinator at the Arnhold Institute for Global Health and the Department of Global Health and Health System Design at Mount Sinai where she is supporting the evaluation of the NYC Partnership HoPE Doula program, the community-engaged adaptation of the program for birthing persons affected by homelessness and incarceration, and other maternal research projects. Alva is currently pursuing an MPH in Epidemiology/Biostatistics at CUNY School of Public Health & Health Policy and aim to remain engaged in maternal and infant health research efforts.
